To download Palau, open the App Store or Google Play on your phone. Type Palau into the search bar. Palau is a free application so you can download it right away!

Palau is available in English and Spanish! To change the language, simply make sure that your phone’s language is set to English or Spanish. We are working on making the app available in more languages. Want to use Palau in your language? Send us a message and let us know!

You can always review the products you’ve previously scanned by looking at your Scan History. If there is any product you would want to delete, just click the “edit” button situated to the right of the “Scan History” title. Then you will be able to delete the desired product(s) by just clicking on the red minus icon. Once you are finished, make sure to click on “save” to guarantee that all changes will be saved correctly!

On the Footprint page, you can calculate the impact you diet has on the environment on a yearly basis. Choose your diet type and configure how frequenty you consume certain food categories. When you’re done, click “Calculate my footprint” and review your diet’s carbon, land and water footprints!

Before scanning, make sure you have:
1. Authorized access to your phone’s camera. You can change this in your phone’s settings.
2. Authorized access to cellular data. This can also be checked in your phone settings.
3. An internet connection, either Wi-Fi or 3G/4G/5G.

After this, tap on the “Scan” icon located in the center of the navigation bar and place place a product’s barcode inside the rectangle. Immediately after scanning the barcode, you’ll access the product's rating, both eco-score and nutri-score, ranging from 0 to 100. To view more about the product, why it received this score and proposed alternatives, simply swipe up!
